Where his twin brother recanted his accursed blood to defend the Erdtree, Mohg has embraced his curse and the truth behind it. Miquella who once grew the Haligtree from his own blood had disappeared, his rebirthing cocoon stolen from the very roots of the Haligtree, by Mohg the Lord of Blood. The Brace of the Haligtree is all that keeps it standing, the inner waters that once flowed through it have all become corrupted with rot. Loretta guards the tree against any possible intruder but upon her defeat it’s revealed that Pests have overtaken the inner grounds. The denizens of the Haligtree town have all died from plague, even the Crystallians once thought immortal have been affected. Malenia’s influence has taken its toll irregardless of Miquella’s Unalloyed Gold. In the far north beyond the Forbidden Lands, the Haligtree fails, eaten away from the inside out by Scarlet Rot. All are abandoned by the grace of the Greater Will. Malenia falls into slumber and is carried off by her retreating knights to the Haligtree. He’s now cursed to ever wander their old battlefield, maddened by pain and fire. She births the Scarlet Aeonia, destroying Caelid with Scarlet Rot, Radahn himself only survives through burning his great rune to resist the encroaching rot. Radahn’s prowess pushes Malenia to her very limit, their conflict ending in stalemate, Radahn forever poisoned by Scarlet Rot, and Malenia herself losing control of the Scarlet Rot within. He’s grown massive with the power of his great rune and it is between these two champions that the final battle is met. Malenia’s last foe is Radahn the Starscourge. Perhaps the reading on that confused you with some other portion? But if you read the Erdtree portion it begins with the routing of the dragons and immediately moves onto the war for the mountaintop.Īll that awaits now is the final battle. At the beginning a big thing I see as important is that the origins of Gold and its immortality come from the Ancient Dragons and that Marika inherited the idea. Not sure what you mean about the Erdtree forces and Godwyn. The idea that there was a cycle of fire and ice depending on who controlled the peak during the prehistory is very speculative and only really based around the giant's vague connection to the dragons as well as the aforementioned thing about the Ice Dragons. I didn't bring up the Ice Dragons holding the peak before the Fire Giants because it's only mentioned once and I want to be concise. For Maliketh to side with the original order and betray them in favor for his Empyrean is actually even more reminiscent of Ranni's story with Blaidd being a technical servant of the Greater Will. It's not redundant if Marika betrayed all of Farum Azula and the Ancient Dragons who may have fostered her as a child. But when Maliketh sealed Destined Death, the true power of the black flame was lost." -Scouring Black Blade "Sacred sword of the Gloam-Eyed Queen who controlled theGodskin Apostles before her defeat at the hands of Maliketh." -Godslayer's Greatsword
